Us at the very end of 2008...
At the end of 2008, we had just finished up season 3 of Corrupted TV and we sort of got into a funk. Around Christmas time, we decided to film a few skits for Corrupted TV season 4, and we did. After season 3 though (which left on a big cliff hanger) was sort of a sci-fi freakout fest compared to the rest of our skits. I don't know why, but I was sort of obsessed with the whole space/alternate reality/magic type of concepts. Now that and comedy don't usually mix, they can and have, but I guess I didn't really maneuver it too well.
I really really liked the end of season 3, but it was such a weird combination of actual sketch comedy and serialized plots. So you couldn't really keep track unless you watched the entire season. Anyways, that formula started getting really stale towards the end. So when we started to film (from where we had left off from season 3) for season 4 it really didn't work well. We filmed "Deep Space Noob" which was written by Josh, in December of 08'. That didn't go well, at all. It was entirely scripted, and by the end of the night nobody was in a good mood. The script was really clever and funny but we all just needed a change. That filming weekend, we also filmed a few more season 4 skits, the only one I can remember though was called "Get Fit" which was also almost entirely scripted, written by me. It looked pretty funny on paper, but then when we got down to filming it, not so much. It felt like the same old stupid comedy videos we've always done. It felt like we weren't progressing much at all.
I had been wanting to make an exclusively serialized comedy for a while. Red Legacy started "TNTD" but that really wasn't what I had hoped it would be (though for what it is, I love it). So I wanted a semi-realistic serialized comedy. I had plans of making one that mixed all Red Legacy cast members that would be really short form, and had written episodes (some which actually became OWED episodes. Ex. "My Novella") but we never got around to it. So then after 2008 ended I just got really sick of this old format and was starting to wonder if I even wanted to do this anymore. So then I decided to look back on my sitcom idea. I changed the name and reformatted it to fit just the Corrupted TV cast, and went to work. I wrote a treatment for maybe the first 8 episodes of OWED (though only, around 4 of the original treatments became actual episodes) and then I got all of the Corrupted Crew members pumped for it. So we were set to film "Our World, Every Day" in February of 09'.
Filming "Rocket Day"
So we almost didn't film anything that weekend, until BLC rallied us into filming. Then we filmed 3 episodes all in around 2 hours. I think OWED has comedically and cinemotagraphically refreshed and challenged us. Now, having a season and a half under our belt, I still believe OWED will be around for a while. Creatively, 2009 has been an amazing year for us. We really needed that as a group and I think it paid off really well.

Us at the end of 2009...
For 2010, hopefully it'll be a creative and successful year for Corrupted TV. I have a feeling it will be.
